Mini UPS 12V 2A Guide
12V 2A is a figure that appears in mini UPS listing titles, pairing a voltage with a current. Read properly, it says two things: the output voltage is 12 volts, and the output can deliver up to 2 amps of current. Read improperly, it becomes a specification for a model, which it is not on this site: it is a listing title figure, and no page here presents it as a published specification sheet for a named model. This guide explains how to read the pair correctly.
Voltage must match exactly, as the voltage guides explain. Current works differently: the figure states a maximum the output can deliver, and the device draws only what it needs up to that maximum. A device that draws 1 amp runs correctly on a 2 amp output, because the output is not forced into the device. A device that draws 3 amps does not run correctly on a 2 amp output, because the output cannot deliver what the device asks for, and the result is usually a device that fails to start, reboots, or runs unstably.
The device label states both figures: its required voltage and its current draw, or equivalently its power draw. Checking both against the UPS output is the complete check. Checking voltage alone is the most common partial check, and it fails exactly when the device draws more current than the output can supply, which is common with cameras and with router and modem pairs sharing one output.
For a router and modem pair on one output, the currents add. Two devices drawing 1 amp each need an output that can deliver 2 amps in total, not two separate 1 amp outputs, unless each device has its own output. The multi-output page explains that addition, and the continuity guides explain why the pair must be protected together. A buyer unsure of the addition should list the devices and their label figures in the inquiry for a confirmed answer.
Minimum order quantity is confirmed per order, customisation can be discussed, certificates are available upon request, and delivery time is not published. The company contact is Ms. Zita Huang, and the contact page carries the inquiry form.
